Welcome to Sheridan, WY

Wyoming’s Jewel, Sheridan’s fabled western history and dramatic mountain vistas meet new west comfort and the serenity of wide-open spaces. The city was named after General Philip Sheridan, Union cavalry leader in the American Civil War. In the 21st century, Sheridan is the economic center for a large area spanning three counties in north-central Wyoming and southern Montana. The town has a relatively diversified economy which includes government, healthcare, education, real estate, mining, and financial services, with a growing manufacturing sector. Sheridan provides history with a view – from Main Street to the magnificent backdrop of the Bighorn Mountains – it offers modern hospitality with old west charm. For a long time, tourism has had a significant factor in Sheridan’s economy and community life. Numerous guest ranches including Eaton’s Ranch hosted guests that arrived by rail. Books like “Diary of a Dude Wrangler and Hell Among the Yearlings” document it’s history. Sheridan was actually ranked #1 by the True West Magazine in 2006 among the Top Western Towns. It was ranked #6 in 2007. It is a vacation destination and a travel stop, due to its proximity to Interstate 90 and U.S. Route 14. Welcome to Sheridan, Wyoming.

Lives Up to The Reviews!

July 28, 2026

We stopped here for breakfast while on vacation after seeing they had a 4.7-star Google rating, and it absolutely lived up to the reviews. The food was phenomenal, the portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The chicken fried steak was perfectly crispy, the gravy was full of flavor, the hash browns were crispy, the eggs were cooked just right, and the sausage was delicious.

What really made this place stand out was the people. The staff was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We also found out the owner cooks the breakfast herself, and you can definitely tell she takes pride in what comes out of the kitchen. It’s not often you find a place that gets both the food and the hospitality right, but this one absolutely does. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.

It sounds personal, authentic, and like something you’d actually post after discovering a great local breakfast spot on vacation.

Every town has that one special cafe where the locals meet for breakfast. The Silver Spur is that place. It’s a no frills cafe with hard working, dedicated staff, huge portions, and expertly prepared food. You might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it’s worth the wait. Best breakfast around.

Amazing Food!

August 3, 2025

Wow, old school vibe served with smile. The food was amazing and so was our waitress! She greeted us with a smile and offered a kind and genuine opinion on a few dishes. Country fried steak was a hand breaded minute steak and plenty of butter and love. The white gravy was packed with sausage and flavor. The bacon wrapped burger was perfectly done and served with eggs, potatoes and bread. The biscuits and gravy was a perfectly flaky and smothered in gravy. I would drive 500 miles to eat here again. My only suggestion is to keep slaying it! Amazing job

You Won’t Leave Hungry!

My friend suggested we go here while I was visiting her in Sheridan. I’m glad she did! The staff & patrons were very friendly & I enjoyed watching my meal being prepared. I ordered the 1 egg breakfast & a side pancake called a “saddle blanket” on the menu. They weren’t kidding. I splurged & added blueberries for a $1 more. The “saddle blanket ” alone is big enough to feed 2 people! Most of it came home with me. I will be back again & when you do bring your appetite. You won’t leave hungry.

The best breakfast!

September 6, 2021

The best breakfast! Generous homemade portions with fresh ingredients. The calamity Jane which is a cinnamon roll French toast was so delectable & finger licking good that I’d go every day to get it if I was local. It is a must get!
